ADOPTIONS
We have two adoption options:
REGULAR ADOPTION - An adoption contract is required. Any equine adopted from Give Me A Chance remains the legal property of Give Me A Chance for one year. The adopter must agree to allow GMACER to check on the adopted animal. If GMACER determines that the equine is not being properly cared for, we may take the animal back. If after one year we have determined that the animal has been well cared for, GMACER will transfer ownership of the equine to the adopter. Adoption fees vary. Because we check out potential homes and follow up on the equines we adopt out, we must limit our adoptions to the state of Arkansas.
SPECIAL ADOPTION - The adopting family pays $25 to "adopt" a horse and then pays $25 each month toward its care. We will mail the adopting family a picture of the horse and will provide monthly updates on how the horse is doing. The equine stays with Give Me A Chance at Rockin D Ranch. There will be only one adopting family per horse on our Special Adoption list, although people may pool their money to "adopt" one of these equines. The adopting family may visit the horse and handle it as much as the horse will safely allow. We retain the right to monitor those visits. No rough training is allowed! The family keeps the horse for as long as they continue to pay $25 per month toward its care. If they miss a month, they lose the adoption and the horse goes back onto the Available list.
The horses on our Special Adoption list are selected from our Permanent Residents or have been with Give Me A Chance for over a year or are horses that we feel are unlikely to be adopted in the Regular program. Should the adopting family be in a position to switch to a Regular adoption, and if the horse is suitable for that type of adoption, we can switch the horse's adoption from Special to Regular. For example, Spice is on the Special Adoption list because she is blind. She has been adopted in the Special Adoption program. Should her adopting family become in a situation where they would like to adopt her on a Regular basis, we can arrange for that.
SPONSORSHIPS
Anyone, anywhere can sponsor one of our equines on the "Available for Adoption" and "Permanent Residents" lists. One-time or repeat donations of any amount are gratefully accepted. All sponsorships and donations are tax-deductible.
Please consider sponsoring a horse in someone's name as a gift!
Sponsorships are available for $15 or more per month (you choose the amount). As a sponsor, your name and the gift recipient's name will appear on our "Available for Adoption" page next to the horse you choose to sponsor. One-month or on-going sponsorships are welcome.
If you wish to use your sponsorship to promote your business, we will provide your business name, telephone number and address on our sponsor info at the end of the "Available for Adoption" page. We will provide this information for as long as you wish to contribute.
