NOTE: The ages stated for the equines are the ages they will be on their birthdays in 2010.  Many of the ages are estimated.  We do have accurate dates on the ages of all the BLM mustangs.

Buck is a 19-year-old buckskin Quarter Horse gelding.  He is broke to ride.  He is arthritic and is currently recovering from a shoulder injury.
Adoption fee: $160

Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang is a roan BLM mustang mare.  She has not had much handling.

Little Man is a small, very gentle 8-year-old gelding.  Little Man is not broke to ride.

Blondie is a lovely chestnut mare.  She can be led and brushed.  We were told that she is broke to ride but is spirited and needs an experienced rider.

Braveheart is a very friendly BLM mustang gelding.  We can brush him and pick up his feet.  Braveheart has a heart murmur but Dr. Tilley said that he could be used for light riding, although he is not currently broke to ride.

Summer is a beautiful buckskin mare.

Dusty Rose was returned to GMACER because the people could no longer afford to feed her.  She is a BLM mustang.  She is not broke to ride.

Dusty Rose is currently being fostered.  Adoption is not available at this time.

Top Hat was adopted out with Dusty Rose.  He, also, was returned because the people could no longer afford to feed him.  Top Hat is not broke to ride.  This photo was taken several months ago.  He is looking much better now.  An updated photo will be posted when one becomes available.

Conner is spirited and is easy to catch, lead and load.  He is 5 years old.  Conner is not broke to ride.

Molly is a very small BLM mare, about 10 years old.  She loves to be petted and brushed.  Molly is not broke to ride.

Charley is a gentle BLM mare.  She can be petted and brushed.  Charley is not broke to ride.

Yang (on the left) is a young jack.

Pepe Le Pew is an older jack (an uncastrated male donkey) that is broke to ride and drive.  A photo will be posted soon.

Shawmut is a john (a castrated male donkey).  A photo will be posted soon.

Cocoa is approximately 6 years old.  She is broke to ride but is a little hard to catch.

Stuart Little is a 5-year-old large pony/small horse.  He has not yet been gelded.  He has had no training at all.

COWBOY 
is a 10-year-old mustang gelding.  He was rescued from a killer pen and given to GMACER.  He is healthy and sound.  He is somewhat wary of people but can be petted while at the feed tub.  Cowboy is not broke to ride.

Reese's (as in the peanut butter candy) was one of the horses saved from starvation in Clarksville in 2009.  She can be petted but has not had a lot of handling.  This photo was taken almost a year ago.  She is looking much better now.  A recent photo of her is on the News Update page.

Spice is a blind mare.

Spice has been "adopted" by PET Arabians, LLC. 

Cherokee is a blind mare that loves attention.   

Cher has been "adopted" by Linda Prutzman.

Black Beauty came in with Cherokee and is also blind. 

Black Beauty has been "adopted" by Dana Williams.

Bute-tee is a 9-year-old BLM mustang mare that came to GMAC with a broken jaw.  The jaw has healed with permanent deformaties.  She is not halter-broke and is wary of people. 

Bute-tee has been "adopted" by Sherry Kelly and Mary Lewis.

Miss Mary is a blind BLM mustang mare who arrived in December.  Because of her disability, she will stay at Give Me A Chance. 

Miss Mary has been "adopted" by Diane and Mike Gujda of Colorado.

Golden Locket is now 5 years old.  She was badly mauled by another horse in the pasture at her former home and those injuries are permanent.    

Golden Locket has been "adopted" by Patricia, Elizabeth and Tim of PET Arabians, LLC.



                                                        PERMANENT RESIDENTS

Some of the equines at Give Me A Chance Equine Rescue cannot be adopted out, either due to legal reasons or physical/behavioral problems or special circumstances.  Please sponsor them to help pay for their care. 

Blackjack was attacked by an older jack and seriously injured.  He is recovering and will be gelded in the fall.  He has kept such a good disposition through hard times that we will keep him as the "greeter" at the ranch.  Blackjack loves to talk . . . er, bray! 

Strike For Richard is a 14-year-old Thoroughbred gelding who came to GMACER with a pulled suspensory ligament.   The ligament has healed but he has developed a ring bone. (For information on ringbone, see the Special Needs page.)  Richard requires a special diet. He is a former racehorse.

Ginger has an injured tendon and is lame.

Fancy is gentle but has a crooked foot and is permanently lame. Please see Fancy on the Special Needs page.

Baby is a half-mustang mare.  No one has been successful in starting her under saddle, so we have decided to keep her as a permanent resident.
